Satellite Sam #1 (2013)

Cover:

Damn those lingerie assassins.  They are killing all our important cosmonauts!

Plot:

It’s another day at Le Monde Studios as they start airing their space opera/drama Satellite Sam.  Things seem to be a bit more tense than usual; the company president is talking it up with some investors to expand the channel’s influence; and the main star of their TV serial, Carlyle White, is missing in action.

Our Main Character:

If I had to guess, White’s son, Michael, would be main character-ish.

Our Side Characters:

So many side characters… so many that look alike.

Writing:

Man, the police in the 50’s were both really quick and also inefficient at their jobs, weren’t they?

Dialogue:

So much dialogue, I’m drowning!!

Art:

The 50’s were totally in black & white, even in reality.

Most Memorable Moment:

You know what?  I would totally buy that kind of crap an old TV serial pulling at the end.

Final Page:

Look man, you’ll just have to realize your dad was a pervert.  It’s the cold hard reality.

What We Should Take from This Comic:

Someone killed Carlyle White, but who was it?  Was it related to the TV serial he was in or does it have to deal with his secret life?

What We Do Take From This Comic:

Working on TV back in the 50’s looked incredibly hard and involved pulling a lot of crap out of your ass to make sure the show went right…. I can believe that.

Yay or Nay?

Yay?
