What We Should Take from This Comic:

Constantine has the first part of this magic compass, but with having it, it makes him a target.  He better hope he can obtain the rest of the pieces before he dies next.

What We Do Take From This Comic:

Outside of Zatanna, Constantine’s buddies’ life expectancy must be rather low.

Yay or Nay?

  1. I feel the action is happening too fast.

The enemy is a magic bimbo. ZzZzZzZzZz.

As far as art goes: Sure, "it's art". But it's a modern technique and all. What I absolutly loved about Hellblazer is that it had that gritty look which distinguished it.

    Nay.

    1. Yeah, I don't blame you. I liked it, but I'm kind of mixed on it (as seen by the use of ? with the Yay).

As for the art, I liked it, but it does nothing to really stand out to me that's why I'm indifferent towards. I don't mind that it isn't as gritty as the Hellblazer stuff though.

I have read Hellblazer (in particular Jaime Delano's stuff), but I wanted to be fair to this comic and judge it on its own merits. For what it is, it's fine but it doesn't really hit me like Delano's stuff. Then again, it took a while for his stuff to actually impress me as well..

    2. Well, I am reluctant to change. I understand what you mean by judging it on its own, but Hellblazer is just too recent to really forget.

As far as it goes, I might give issue #2 a chance, but not much more. I'm really repealled by the Magic Bimbo villain. And maybe all the light colors in a "dark" comic book.
