Plot:

 

This is the fallout to the Throne of Atlantis, where Aquaman has officially taken over as King of Atlantis.  However the tensions between him, the surface world, and even Atlantis itself is starting boil.

 

Our Hero:

 

I see he is starting to get a stubble.

 

Our Villain:

 

Like he cares about your license.

 

Our Side Characters:

 

Doesn’t want to make a scene?  Oh I believe she’ll make a scene alright.

 

Action:

 

Not really any.

 

Dialogue:

 

So how does one translate Vuu Vuu Vuu Vuu anyways?

Argh, zombie!

 

What We Should Take from This Comic:

 

Atlantean weaponry ending up the wrong hands, Mera arrested,  public opinion on Aquaman and Atlantis down the crapper, and a zombie king rising?  Man, things are not looking up for the new king.

 

What We Do Take From This Comic:

 

Oh yeah, the police going to arrest Mera.  This can only end well.

Justice League #17

Cover:

Looks like he as one of everything from our heroes.  Speaking of which, whatever happened to the Flash?

Plot:

The war with Atlantis is coming to a close as the traitor, Vulko, has been revealed.  However, even knowing that, the Justice League is going to need to lay a smack down on Aquaman’s brother in order to stop all of this.

Our Heroes:

Aquaman knows how to throw one hell of a punch.

Our Villain:

Man, yield was all it took? 

Our Side Characters:

I’m already liking this Element Woman.

Action:

It is glorious, especially with this art.

Dialogue:

The power of the word “Yield” saves the day again.

Art:

The two page battle spread…  *getting teary-eyed* it’s beautiful!

Most Memorable Moment:

The same as what I said about Our Heroes.

Final Page:

One team growing stronger.  One team to start.  One team to destroy them all. This will be good. 

What We Should Take from This Comic:

In order to prevent future wars from starting, Aquaman must leave the surface world and Mera behind to lead Atlantis.  After all of this trouble, things couldn’t possibly get any worse, could they?

So when did Mera get a brand new costume anyhow?
